David McCullough And An All-Star Cast Share a Poem to Support Mass Poetry

Join Massachusetts’ Brightest Leaders As They Share the Stage at Mass Poetry’s Annual Fundraiser
What do a Pulitzer Prize-winning historian, a celebrity chef, a digital entrepreneur and a rock-and-roll star have in common? A belief in the transformative power of poetry. On December 7th, a stunning range of Massachusetts leaders will come together at BU’s Huntington Theatre to read a favorite poem and reflect on its connection to their life and work. This remarkable evening is a fundraiser for Mass Poetry’s many programs, including Student Days of Poetry, which brings poetry to thousands of public school students every year, mostly in underserved school districts. The evening celebrates the importance of poetry to people from all walks of life and highlights the crucial role poetry plays in inspiring compassionate, imaginative, powerful leaders. This event is co-sponsored by the Favorite Poem Project, founded by Robert Pinsky, former US Poet Laureate. Come enjoy an incredible evening of reading and reflection, while helping further the mission of Mass Poetry.

All proceeds from this event fund Mass Poetry’s many programs, including PoeTry on the MBTA, which replaces ads with poems; Student Days of Poetry, serving over 6,000 students annually, mostly in underserved schools; Common Threads, a community reading program that reaches all across the state and the Massachusetts Poetry Festival, the second largest poetry festival in the U.S., which brings together thousands of poetry lovers every year.
