Literary Lunch Break at Faneuil Hall Marketplace: Poets’ Theatre

July 2, 2015 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

Benjamin Evett, screen and stage actor and Producing Artistic Director of the Poets’ Theatre, will be one of several Poets’ Theatre actors and poets presenting a bouquet of short excerpts from great oratory and famous poems — all echoing originals first delivered in the vicinity of Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, the State House, the Boston Athenaeum, the Tremont Temple, and the Boston Public Library. The event will honor Boston’s rich legacy of great orators and literary and political figures of great variety and distinction. Think: Ralph Waldo Emerson, Sojourner Truth, Louisa May Alcott, Frederick Douglass, John F.and Ted Kennedy, and Secretary of State John Kerry, among others. It’s going to be great. Evett was just honored with the 2015 Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Solo Performance in Albatross, which ran at the Paramount Center.
